[Summary]
In the spring of 1919, a piece of Chinese fir was planted by cutting method in Xihou Village, Wangtai Town. After liberation, the national forestry experts measured the accumulation rate of high-yield Chinese fir forest after Wangtai Creek as high as 78.9 cubic meters per mu. In 1955, Premier Zhou Enlai announced at the Bandung Conference in Indonesia that the rich Chinese fir forest after Wangtai Creek ranked first in the country and first in the world. In 1958, Premier Zhou Enlai personally wrote and awarded Wangtai Commune the title of "Green Treasury".



In 1961, Chairman Zhu De and Ye Fei, then secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, visited Xihou Village to inspect the life of the fir rich forest area and was named "Fir King".
